Pillar IV of IV

Fellowships

An institutional framework connecting practitioners, researchers, academics, and policy experts who contribute to the Institute's research mandate — by invitation, based on expertise and accountability.

Fellowship Philosophy

Appointed by invitation.
Accountable for what is published.

Fellowship appointments at the ELDR Institute are made by invitation. They are not honorary titles or professional association memberships — they are research accountability designations. Every fellow is appointed because of domain expertise and a commitment to contribute: to research production, peer review, executive education, or the Institute's policy work.

The ELDR Institute Fellows Directory will launch alongside the Institute's first formally published research. The six appointment categories below reflect different modes of contribution — from primary research responsibility (Senior Fellows) to practitioner advisory input (Strategic Advisors).

Fellowship appointments are made by invitation. To inquire about research collaboration, advisory participation, or visiting fellowship opportunities, contact the Institute directly.

Appointment Categories

Six categories.
One standard of accountability.

Domain authorities with primary research responsibility.

Senior Fellows lead research within specific domains, are credited as principal authors on Institute publications, and serve on the Institute's research advisory board. Appointment is for a defined research term.

Active researchers contributing to published work.

Research Fellows contribute to Institute research projects under the direction of Senior Fellows, conduct primary research, and participate in peer review processes within their domains.

Practitioners contributing domain expertise.

Industry Fellows are senior practitioners who contribute practitioner knowledge, case evidence, and domain expertise to the Institute's research — particularly for applied governance, technology implementation, and regulatory compliance topics.

Scholars contributing research methodology and rigor.

Academic Fellows connect the Institute with the academic research community — contributing rigorous research methods, peer review capability, and academic perspective to Institute publications.

Subject matter specialists on defined research terms.

Visiting Fellows are appointed for defined terms to contribute to specific research projects or executive education programs — typically practitioners or scholars with specialized expertise relevant to a specific Institute workstream.

Senior practitioners guiding research agenda direction.

Strategic Advisors are senior practitioners who advise on the Institute's research agenda, provide strategic input on publication relevance, and help connect Institute research with institutional decision-makers.
